Grace Varsity Football capped off an unforgettable season, finishing undefeated in regular-season league play and securing back-to-back Citrus Coast League championships. The Lancers continued their postseason run beating the Rialto high school Knights 28-27 in the first round; the Yucca Valley Trojans 41-28 in the quarterfinals; the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs 49-42 in the semi-finals, advancing to the championship game to face Santa Paula—who the Lancers had lost to in the beginning of the season. But Grace came ready to play and dominated the Cardinals, 48-16 winning the CIF-SS Division 12 Championship.

This season's triumph marks the fifth CIF-SS championship in program history and the first since 2019. Grace Football concluded its postseason journey as the CIF Regional State Semifinal runner-up—losing 57-40 to Morse High School in the CIF-SS state semifinals, and closed out an impressive year with an overall record of 11–4.

When asked about the historic season, fifth year head coach Tom Coate said, “This was a magic season. We grew from boys who had never played football to very experienced, very disciplined football players; and It's all credit to God. We wouldn’t be able to do it without him. And credit goes to these boys. They believed and went to work every day and then kept building this Grace Football program from when I first started in here in 2021 until now.”

In other fall sports news, Grace girls' Golf had a memorable season finishing 2-2 in league play and qualifying three Grace golfers, senior Samantha Wolf and juniors Ashlyn Francis and Kendall Vaughn, to compete in the Tri-Valley individual league finals. After two days of competition, Senior Samantha Wolf scored in the top 4 but did not advance to the CIF championships.

Golf was not the only Grace girls' fall team with players earning accolades on their season.  Seniors Izzy Frazier and Jordan Reimer each earned second team all Tri-Valley for their standout efforts in league, followed by honorable mention going to senior Elinor Saunders and juniors Brooke Burns and Brenna Bakker. Congratulations to these girls for their stand-out season.

Equipped as Citizens: Fifth in the G.R.A.C.E. Series

As Christians, we are called to be "dual citizens," seeking the good of the nations and cities where God has placed us while advancing God's Kingdom on the earth. Here's a few examples of how students at Grace are equipped as citizens…

Engaged citizens have compassionate hearts and seek the good of those around them. We develop these traits in our students through partnerships with Christian ministries such as Operation Christmas Child and Children's Hunger Fund. We love how engagement with these organizations helps open our students' eyes to the needs around them and discover how they can make a difference in their community and world.
