Grounded in Truth: The First Article in the Series

At Grace School, we believe that education is much more than just learning the ABCs and 123s. We believe in nurturing the whole student - academically, spiritually, social/emotionally, and physically. From our youngest preschoolers all the way to our graduating seniors, we are building students who are...

Grounded in Truth

Rooted in Christ

Apt to Lead

Clear in Communication

Equipped as Citizens

In this series, we will break down some of the ways we are achieving these goals at each grade level, as well as sharing some stories of alumni who are living out these qualities. Let's examine what it means for our students to be grounded in truth…

PRESCHOOL

The preschool years are extremely formative in establishing a child's understanding of the world. At Grace Preschool, we encourage our students to explore their world with the understanding that God is the creator of everything. Whether we are watching caterpillars hatch from cocoons or learning how yellow and blue make green, we are helping our students to see God's creativity, order, and beauty in all He has made. We also encourage students to understand their own identity as image bearers of God--unique from anything else in creation.

ELEMENTARY

In Elementary, we continue to build on the foundation established at Grace Preschool. In a culture that sees morals as relative and encourages children to "live their truth," we are teaching students to ground their lives on the unchanging truth of God's Word. When our kindergarteners are learning how to be kind to friends on the playground, it isn't only because it makes others feel good; it's because their friends are made in God's image! When our 6th graders study the religions of ancient civilizations, they discover how man-made religions fail to offer true hope--hope that is found in Christ alone.

JUNIOR/SENIOR HIGH

Junior and Senior High is a time when students begin asking big questions about God, life, truth, and identity. This is a critical part of development, and we cherish the opportunity to walk alongside our students as they learn how to think and reason. Our goal in every class is to teach from a biblical worldview so our students learn how to analyze and question the world around them while standing on the bedrock truth of God's unchanging Word. In 11th and 12th grade, students dive deep into apologetics, learning how to give a reasoned defense of their faith in college and beyond.

ALUMNI IN ACTION

"Grace taught me to think and reason. These more than anything else helped prepare me for my future. Being able to take something in, weigh its pros and cons, and decide for myself what I wanted to do has been pivotal in my life. [...] Being in the TV industry has given me a fantastic opportunity to bring the love of Christ to an industry filled with non-believers. People often ask me, 'Brian, you’re different, what is different about you?' This is the perfect open door for me to talk to them about my relationship with Christ."

-Brian Andrews, Grace class of '05

Equipped as Citizens: Fifth in the G.R.A.C.E. Series

As Christians, we are called to be "dual citizens," seeking the good of the nations and cities where God has placed us while advancing God's Kingdom on the earth. Here's a few examples of how students at Grace are equipped as citizens…

Engaged citizens have compassionate hearts and seek the good of those around them. We develop these traits in our students through partnerships with Christian ministries such as Operation Christmas Child and Children's Hunger Fund. We love how engagement with these organizations helps open our students' eyes to the needs around them and discover how they can make a difference in their community and world.
