Visual Arts

At Grace Elementary, we feel that it is very important to expose and teach our students about music and art starting at a young age. Not only is it a part of our co-curricular schedule but we also offer various extra opportunities for students to engage in the arts. Whether it be through our worship band, choir, or drama club students can learn, grow, and practically use their gifts, talents, and abilities. We welcome students who have already practiced their abilities as well as students who are just wanting to learn and explore for the first time.

Our junior high students are introduced to the fundamentals of art through a semester-long study of basic elements—including color, shape, and perspective—as well as hands-on experience with a variety of media, such as drawing, painting, and collage. Students who take film studies are introduced to classic and contemporary films that have been innovative or have contributed to artistic excellence in filmmaking.

Our senior high art programs provide students with opportunities to specialize in a range of media, including clay work, sculpture, drawing and painting, and design. Our goal is to help students find their voice and express themselves through their chosen art forms while also recognizing how they can use art for the glory of God.

Courses Offered: Junior High Art, Art Media I/II, Art Media III/IV, Graphic Design, Ceramics, JH Film Studies, Film Studies, and Tech Theatre.
