Visual Arts

We strive to instill in all students the understanding that they are created in the image of God and that He is glorified when they use their God-given abilities to create. With that framework in mind, art education begins in elementary school, where students are introduced at a young age to the basic elements of art and design. Beginning in middle school and continuing through high school, students may take semester- or year-long elective classes, including two levels of art, ceramics, tech theatre, yearbook, photography, graphic design, and film studies. Visual arts students have opportunities to explore a wide range of artistic media and to study art from a variety of historical and cultural contexts. In addition, students may participate in student art galleries or contribute to full technical productions in partnership with the drama department.
