Field Trips
One special part of a child's education at Grace School is grade-level field trips. These trips allow students to create a special connection with the curriculum they have been studying in class. Along with their teachers, and parent chaperones, students visit and experience science and history with a hands-on learning experience that brings their education to life.
EDUCATION BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Preschool
Elementary
Trips to Underwood Farms, the Los Angeles Science Center, JPL, the Reagan Library, Moorpark College Teaching Zoo, and local businesses and services are just some of the exciting places that our classes visit. All of these trips are part of the curriculum and are at no additional cost to families.
In addition to these, three special field trips are an additional cost. In second grade, students end their ocean unit with an Ocean Adventure field trip. Students and their parents/chaperones will head to the Channel Island Harbor. They will experience hands-on learning through a private tour, touch tanks, and exploration. They will then board a boat for whale watching as they observe Pacific gray whales migrating through the Channel Islands. This is an exciting opportunity for students to experience firsthand what they have been learning in the classroom.
Fourth grade is all about California history! Students, along with their parent/chaperone, fly to Northern California where they will spend three days experiencing California firsthand. They will spend time in downtown San Francisco riding the trolley, touring Alcatraz, and enjoying dinner on Pier 39. Students will also pan for gold at Sutter's Mill in Coloma, tour the Jelly Belly factory, and the state capitol building, and explore Old Town Sacramento. It is the perfect balance of learning while having fun and bonding as a class.
The final major field trip is our Sixth Grade Science Camp. All sixth-grade students will head to a local camp to stay in cabins and learn about God's unique creation around them. They will have chapel daily and experience fun activities such as zip lining and rock climbing. This is an incredible time of spiritual growth and bonding for our sixth-grade class.

8th Grade Historical Studies Tour
Historical Studies Tour is an annual event for 8th-grade students. This trip is uniquely tied with our 8th-grade History class as part of the state framework and our school’s curriculum. This March we are celebrating our 22nd anniversary.
This historical tour of a lifetime begins where America began in Jamestown, Virginia. Over the next 12 days, you will experience reenactments, walk where our founding fathers trod, march in the footsteps of soldiers and honor American fallen heroes. This trip takes you to presidential homes, majestic memorials, Capitol Hill, inspiring campuses, and the bright lights of Broadway and New York City.
Participants travel by coach from Virginia to Washington DC, rural country of Pennsylvania, the urban oasis of NY, and finish up our trip where or revolution began, Boston Massachusetts.

Historical Studies Memories
It is hard for me to put my thoughts of the trip in just a few sentences... I do believe it was a trip of a lifetime. There is not a trip available that you are able to see and experience as much as we did, in that period of time. Not to mention, what a fantastic deal it was. It was so awesome to have everything so well planned out for you. All you need to was show up on time. It truly was a wonderful opportunity for my daughters as well as me. - Julie Miller
The HST trip with Grace is the most amazing, must go on trip of your life time. You will be blessed in so many ways, by meeting other wonderful parents and students at Grace as well as seeing so many historical sites. Everyday on the HST trip is so organized; you will be able to see many places that the average tourist does not have the opportunity to see. I promise that if you do everything Mr. Koster says, from bringing 2 pair of shoes, WARM jacket, umbrella and raincoat, you will have memories and blessings to last you a lifetime.
- Debbie Marvin
The HST trip is a fun and educational way to learn and experience our nation's history. The trip allows us to genuinely value first hand our country's sacrifices and achievements. Furthermore, the sites visited are absolutely spectacular. - Cathy Baez
